Legacy Series Set to Invade SSR Motorsports Park
GRAND BAY, AL – The roar of high-RPM engines is getting a distinct new pitch this weekend. SSR Motorsports Park is officially welcoming the Legacy Series to the high banks, adding a dose of raw, scaled-down stock car intensity to our 2026 racing lineup.
While they may be 3/4-scale, there is nothing "small" about how these cars compete. Built on a 95-inch wheelbase with a full tube-frame chassis, the Legacy cars are powered by Mazda 2200cc powerplants that scream on the straightaways. For the fans in the stands, it’s a throwback to pure driving: no traction control, no power steering, and nowhere to hide if you miss your mark in Turn 2.
A New Challenge on the Grand Bay Asphalt
The Legacy Series has long been a proving ground for rising stars and a home for technical veterans. At SSR, the tight turns and unforgiving nature of our track will put these drivers to the ultimate test. Unlike the heavier full-size late models, the Legacy cars rely on momentum and surgical precision—meaning fans can expect to see plenty of door-to-door action and bold crossover moves as they fight for the lead.
"We’re excited to bring back this level of competition to our local fans," said new Track owners Abe Puckett and Andrew Sorenson. "The Legacy Series has a reputation for clean, hard racing, and they fit right in with the atmosphere we’ve built here at SSR."
Event Details
The Legacy cars will join our regular Saturday night program, featuring a full slate of local favorites including the Legends, Bandolero Outlaws, and Mighty Mites, Jr and Sr Champs kart divisions.
Pits Open: 2:00 PM
Grandstands Open: 5:00 PM
Qualifying/Racing: 6:00 PM
Tickets are available at the tower entrance. Come early, grab a burger at the concession stand, and find a spot along the fence. It’s going to be loud, it’s going to be fast, and it’s exactly what Saturday nights in Grand Bay were made for.
